More good news validating the power of network marketing comes from a new study regarding social media research on the engagement of women online.

A recent research report, The BlogHer-iVillage 2010 Social Media Matters Study, indicates that 73% of women online participate actively online on social networks. The study concluded that:

Although internet search is the most popular media source for product decisions, blogs come in second.

96% of those surveyed read blogs weekly or more often.

Study participants are significantly more active with the top social networks than the average woman.

In the iVillage community, 73% say they are sharing information on message boards/forums that they do not share on social networks. The top topics include relationships (61%), health (45%) and work-related (39%) issues.

An incredible 33.6% of iVillage community members post on message boards/forums every day.

Here comes the validation for network marketing…
Conversations with friends and family members are the ultimate source for purchasing decisions for iVillage community users and message boards/forums are second.

Make sure you analyze the data within the context of how the study itself was conducted since the participants included iVillage and BlogHer Network users. It is likely that those two communities have more dedicated “power users.” The details are provided in the press release.

Using research to validate the power of network marketing should be included in your arsenal of tools in building your mlm business. I’ve given you many. On mlm consultants’ blog, this social media research on the engagement of women online is yet another. Enjoy!
