Here are some gems for you I am sharing from Evan Weber from Experience Advertising. I attended his presentation at Affiliate Summit in Las Vegas. With a record breaking 6000+ people in attendance, the recent Affiliate Summit was fabulous, as usual. Once again, congrats to Shawn Collins and Missy Ward, co-founders.

Evan provided insights into what he views as 20 trends in digital marketing and various accompanying strategies and tactics. If you are an avid reader of mlm consultants’ blog, then you will be familiar with these trends since many of my posts have addressed these topics. Evan’s summary is valuable and you should review his complete slide presentation as mentioned near the end of this post so you can secure access to the names of the tools, software and platforms he utilizes.

Retargeting
Retargeting (also known as remarketing) tops the list. He mentioned various options relating to retargeting on Facebook, Twitter, Google Adwords and conducting search retargeting. Check out a previous post I have made on retargeting.

More Sophisticated Pop-ups
Entry and exist pop-ups still are being used effectively to build email lists, offer specials, along with helping to increase conversion rates. He mentions exitintent as a more sophisticated way to help facilitate that.

Better Mobile Optimization
Stressing the use of mobile by so many, he emphasized looking into using HTML5 emails since they are mobile optimized. He also stressed the importance of making sure your website itself is mobile optimized. He advises having a mobile app for your company.

Reviews Continue to Influence Buyers
Because research shows that at least 90% of online customers are influenced by reviews, it is important that you monitor how your products/services are reviewed. Respond appropriately to any bad reviews.

More Facebook and Twitter Ad Options
Evan stated that the use of Facebook ads are varied. He felt that it was important to advertise for page likes. He encouraged running sweepstakes to boost likes and and secure email opt-ins. He emphasized that you should consider testing Facebook mobile video ads to reach targeted mobile users. He considered mobile video ads on Facebook to be one of the hottest ads being tested right now.

Regarding Twitter he mentioned using Lead Generation Cards and other options to get more prospects added to your list. He reminded everyone to use tracking scripts to measure ROI.

Better Conversion Tactics
He also spoke about utilizing website conversion optimization, using hashtags on your posts, and tagging your best followers. Have people subscribe to your list before they can see certain informational videos. Conduct surveys to get additional subscribers and provide users with the results. Marketing automation should be employed to convert more prospects faster.
